Brian Kirby教授是药学院和生物分子科学学院副院长(课程创新)兼药理学副教授。他毕业于都柏林圣三一大学药学专业，并在TCD师从Shaw教授完成了神经药理学博士学位。之后，他在牛津大学进行博士后研究，与JNP Rawlins教授(实验心理学)和S Greenfield教授(药理学)一起研究阿尔茨海默氏症和帕金森病的新疗法。他于2003年加入RCSI药学院，并在学院内建立药理学教学。2011-2014年，Kirby教授被借调到马来西亚吉隆坡，在Perdana大学新成立的RCSI医学院担任临床药理学系负责人。2017年，他被任命为马来西亚博特拉大学(UPM)医学与健康科学学院的兼职教授，与马来西亚研究机构开展相关科学研究。
