Dr Marzia Pendino
Biography
Dr Marzia Pendino obtained her MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Parma. She was awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to undertake research at University College Cork, where she contributed to the development, fabrication, and characterisation of novel transdermal and intradermal drug delivery systems, including microneedle technologies. She subsequently received an Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship in partnership with Breakthrough Cancer Research to complete a PhD in Cancer Biology at University College Dublin, investigating the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids in uveal melanoma. She then conducted postdoctoral research at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), evaluating novel therapeutic approaches to impede colorectal cancer progression. Dr Marzia Pendino is currently a Lecturer in Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at RCSI and the International College for Pharmaceutical Innovation, SUDA, Suzhou, China.
