A delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland visited the International College of Pharmaceutical Innovation and the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Soochow University

Recently, a delegation of eight which is composed of Barry Brendan Holmes (Group Human Resources Director), Darran O'Connor (Head of School, RCSI School of Postgraduate Studies), Tracy Robson (Head of School of Pharmacy & Biomolecular Sciences), Brian Kirby (Deputy Dean, SUDA-RCSI Int. College of Pharmaceutical Innovation), Jochen Prehn (Director of Centre for Systems Medicine), John O-Brien(Head of Laboratory Operations), Mark Anthony O’Dea (Human Resources Partner), Judy Walsh (Human Resources) visited both the International College of Pharmaceutical Innovation (ICPI) at the Future Campus and the College of pharmaceurical Sciences at the Dushu Lake Campus of Soochow University.  



On the morning of March 12, a meeting was held in the conference room of ICPI at the Future Campus. Sujing Zhu and Xincheng Teng, Deputy Deans of ICPI, provided a detailed overview of the college's progress in development. The delegation highly appreciated the achievements in the construction of the college and expressed their anticipation of strengthening cooperation in the future.

 


Following that, Professor Brian Kirby, Deputy Dean of ICPI from the Irish side, assisted in filming the college's recruitment promotional video. Meanwhile, Deputy Dean Xincheng Teng led the delegation on a tour of the laboratory facilities at the college.

  


After lunch, the delegation visited the gymnasium, teaching centre, and academic exchange centre.  Wang Yu, Deputy Director of the Future Campus Management Committee detailed the construction progress and future development plans of the campus to the delegation.

  


The next day, the RCSI delegation visited the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Dushu Lake Campus of Soochow University. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on teaching mode, resource sharing and curriculum.

 


This collaborative visit marks a significant step towards fostering a strengthened partnership between RCSI and Soochow University. With both parties committed to deepening their collaboration, this venture is poised to pave the way for groundbreaking pharmaceutical education and research advancements.
