Summary: From UCL exchange students in Suzhou to 80+ ICPI students at Cambridge and Oxford in the United Kingdom and the National University of Singapore in Singapore, our ICPI students are rewriting what a global pharmacy education looks like.
1. The Host: When UCL Came to Suzhou
From June to July, 2026 ICPI welcomed nine students from University College London (UCL), United Kingdom for a summer exchange that showcased the College's distinctive integrated approach to pharmacy education.
The visitors toured our Future Campus, explored state-of-the-art laboratories, and experienced firsthand how ICPI blends industry, education, research and clinical practice into a single learning ecosystem.
Faculty and students shared meals and wide-ranging conversations on professional development, industry trends and academic planning. A highlight came when Professor Ijeoma F. Uchegbu, a leading UCL scholar and President of Wolfson College, University of Cambridge took the stage at ICPI’s Lecture Series to share recent and exciting breakthroughs in nanomedicine.
Students from both UCL and ICPI also joined the "Revitalizing Suzhou's Ancient City: Youth in Action" cultural program, conducted joint research in laboratories, and visited BioBAY, Suzhou's leading biopharmaceutical industry park.
For the UCL students, it was a window into China's rapidly evolving pharmaceutical landscape. For ICPI students, it was a reminder that our College is a hub where talented professionals from the East and West meet, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections.
The result yielded mutual learning opportunities, strengthened international collaboration, and provided a powerful boost to ICPI's internationalization agenda and footprint.

2. The Launchpad: 80+ Students, Six World-Leading Universities
ICPI is committed to become a global leader in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. To accomplish this ambitious mission. Hosting international students is one half of ICPI's global philosophy, while sending its own students abroad is the other.
In the summer of 2026, ICPI selected more than 80 students for summer study programs in the months of July and August at six premier institutions across three countries:
·United Kingdom: University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University College London
·Ireland: National University of Ireland, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
·Singapore: National University of Singapore
These were not simply sightseeing trips. They were immersive academic experiences designed to broaden our ICPI students' international academic horizons and prepare them to excel in an increasingly global and competitive pharmaceutical landscape.
For an ICPI pharmacy student, the opportunity to study at Cambridge or Oxford and to sit in the same lecture halls, work in the same labs, and learn from the same faculty, who are shaping the future of the field can be a truly transformative experience. It changes not only what they know, but who they become as young and aspiring professionals.
ICPI's main goal is to produce competent pharmacists but its key ambition is to produce globally competitive innovators, graduates who can move seamlessly between countries, cultures and systems, and who bring a worldwide perspective to every problem they solve to help make our world a better place.

The Philosophy: Global Mobility as a Two-Way Street
What makes ICPI's approach distinctive is its symmetry.
Many Colleges send students abroad. Many host international visitors. However, few do both with the same intentionality and even fewer still integrate the two into a coherent educational philosophy and operational plan.
At ICPI, global mobility is a core part of our curriculum. Students learn in a multicultural environment on campus, then test that learning in the world's leading institutions. International students come to Suzhou, experience China's innovation ecosystem, and leave as ambassadors for collegiality and collaboration.
The result is a virtuous cycle: ICPI students go abroad, return with new ideas and networks, and enrich the campus culture for the next cohort of students. International students visit, experience ICPI’s and Suzhou's energy, and spread the word to their peers across the world. And partnerships deepen and strengthen with every exchange.
This is what it means for ICPI to be a truly international College not simply by virtue of our name but by our daily mission and practice.
Summary - The Future is Bright: A Generation Without Borders
The 80+ ICPI students who studied abroad this summer will return to Suzhou with more than memories. They will return with a life changing experience, a global network, a broader perspective, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in a growing and exciting industry that knows no borders.
The nine UCL students who visited will carry with them back to London, United Kingdom their own positive impressions of ICPI and Suzhou of its cutting-edge laboratories, its rich history, and its friendly people.
And ICPI will continue to build the bridges that connect the world to Suzhou.
Because the future of pharmacy is not confined by national boundaries but is global. And the ICPI students, who represent the next generation of aspiring professionals are ready to lead it.
